Local Governments in Turkey: a static revolution
At: EUREGIO Mobility Fund: Cross-Border Interdisciplinary Workshops on EU integration ; Innsbruck ; 11.5.2017 - 12.5.2017 ; Turkey between centralisation, decentralisation and poly-centralisation: 1. Structure of local governance in Turkey: current legal framework, reforms; 2. European Charter of Local Self-government and Turkey: improvements, recommendations; 3. (R-)evolutions: patterns of change. The presentation aims at developing an historical approach towards administrative reforms in Turkey, thus identifying possible cyclical attitudes towards local governance.
