Floristic and faunistic investigations on the LTSER-sites in Matsch (South Tyrol, Italy) during a multidisciplinary science week in 2016 In the frame of the LTSER (Long-Term Socio-Ecological Research), 28 experts have examined the flora and fauna of the Matsch valley during a science week in June 2016. The investigated sites, ranging from 980 to 2460 m a.s.l., comprised dry meadows, hay pastures, forests of larches and stone pines and glacial and non-glacial reaches of the Saldur stream. Following organisms were determined to species level: diatoms, mosses, vascular plants, aquatic invertebrates, earthworms, moss mites, spiders, harvestmen, millipedes, grasshoppers, bugs, beetles, butterflies, ants, amphibians, reptiles and birds. Altogether 1115 taxa were identified, including first records of Italy (2 species) and South Tyrol (16).
