In this paper we explore how topics from two different fields of computer science, such as Geographic Information Systems and E-learning Systems, can contribute to the Mobile Learning field. In particular, starting from a new concept, the Geographic Learning Object, we discuss how such Geographic Learning Objects can be used in a Geographic Information System in order to provide information and learning content to the citizens of a territory. A prototype mobile architecture supporting Geographic Learning Objects is also described.
