Abstract
The SmartLand project in South Tyrol, northern Italy, aims to enhance water use efficiency in agriculture by building a network between farmers, research facilities and IoT-entrepreneurs (Internet of Things). The goal is to optimise irrigation practices through a network of soil sensors which constantly measure plant water availability, addressing the issue of dwindling water resources within the scenario of climate change.
