Abstract
How can we redefine growth against the conflicting priorities of excess, exit strategies, and renewable materials – in German, ›re-growing‹ materials? Together with Karianne Fogelberg from the cx centre for interdisciplinary studies (AdBK), we started a dis- course on exit strategies such as commoning, green growth, and de-growth, and reviewed emerging materials with an online symposium on bio-fabrication. Joint teams from both universities created scenarios to speculate on possible and desirable futures inspired by material developments and their social impacts. Artist Dagie Brundert helped us, creating plant-based, light-sensitive anthotype prints to complete our thought-provoking stories.
