Abstract
The MATILDE project develops and tests a transdisciplinary conceptual and methodological framework for a multidimensional assessment of the economic and social impacts of Third Country Nationals (TNCs) in rural and mountain areas. The assessment is based on the hypothesis that foreign immigration is an important driver of social and economic development, and that it also affects urban-rural/mountain relationships. The assessment will be based on quantitative and qualitative methods and it will adopt an action-research approach.
Considering the intense political debate around the project’s topic, and the fact that data collection activities foreseen by the project involves individuals from vulnerable groups, the partners of the MATILDE project acknowledge the importance of ethics management in order to guarantee data protection, security, and quality assurance throughout the entire duration of the project. This Ethics Plan thus aims to set the common standards to be adopted by all partners involved in the MATILDE project with a specific focus on research ethics.
