Abstract
A fully flexible sensor system for magnetic fields has been made from giant magnetoresistive devices conditioned by high performance InGaZnO‐based readout electronics by N. Münzenrieder et al, and is reported in article number 1600188. Its record high gain of 48.6 dB, and signal‐to‐noise‐ratio of 56 dB, enables the system to detect magnetic fields with a sensitivity of 25 V/V/kOe, surpassing the responsivity of commercial rigid magnetic sensor systems. This flexible system can operate as a magnetic proximity sensor or switch, and hence be used to realize conformal electronics or electronic skins, e.g., for robotic applications.
