Abstract
For the Institute of Regional Development the window is a very strong symbol of openness: (a) Openness and dialogue between the scientific world and the community, contamination between disciplines, concepts and methods in order to find innovative solutions (inter-transdisciplinary approach) to tackle current global challenges. (b) Openness and exchange between tradition and local knowledge and organizational, technological and digital innovation as well as between the global and the local in order to create interconnections with a view to enhancing diversity. These windows are opportunities for socio-economic development, social innovation and professional growth. They will be told through 4 projects: "Montagne Vitali ": revitalization of the territory through community involvement; "CC4 Alta Carnia": a model of civic center for the inland areas of Carnia; "Formare Informare Abitare": a project to strengthen social cohesion among realities working in the field of migrant integration; "Rural Common Festival": an action-research project on collective practices of rural habitat care.
