Abstract
The starting point for the play "Die treibende Kraft. Ein Stück Südtirol" by Thomas Arzt is the historical story surrounding Lake Reschen. This event serves as an occasion to engage in an interactive World Café discussion about philosophical and ethical questions.
The themes of "progress" and "belief in progress" are to be examined and questioned. What does progress mean in times of sustainability? Where should it end, and where should we develop new visions for the future? What sacrifices are we willing to make? Can individual autonomy be restricted to ensure the protection of the living environment for future generations? These and other questions we must and want to confront together.
