Abstract
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) affects >10% of the worldwide population and is among the leading causes of mortality. Therapeutic solutions to prevent CKD onset or progression are very scarce. With the aim of identifying molecular targets for drug development, genome-wide association studies (GWAS) of kidney function traits have been established. After introducing the GWAS concept, the seminar will go through the main GWAS of kidney function traits, illustrating recent findings and outlining current developments in the field.
