Abstract
bistro is the Information System for Legal Terminology in Italian, German and Ladin created by the Institute for Applied Linguistics of Eurac Research. First launched in 2001, bistro was developed into a more complete and user-friendly system to meet the diversified needs of its users (law professionals, translators, students, and citizens who needs support in understanding and translating texts and legal documents. For German terms, bistro is the only terminological database that clearly specifies in which legal system(s) (i.e. Austria, Germany, Switzerland etc.) they are used. In October 2016, a new version of bistro was launched with a new design and new functions: filter by language, legal system and legal domain; search for synonyms; visualise collocations; access full bibliographic references from bibliographic sources in terminological entries and feedback function
