Abstract
The essay focuses on the postal services at Trento and the nearby stations during the eighteenth century, and outlines the history of the Taxis Bordogna family, who had been in charge of their management since the sixteenth century. There are three fields of investigation: the events affecting the lineage, and the changes in the administration of the postal fief; the management of the postal system and the communication routes; the relationships between the Taxis Bordogna family and the authorities of the Prince-Bishopric of Trento, the County of Tyrol, and the Hapsburg Monarchy.
