Cost leadership with cheap products is the wrong strategy in order to create new jobs in Germany, an expensive but highly qualified location of industry. Success may rather be obtained by a consequent orientation towards market requirements and a steady streng¬thening of all innovative forces in an enterprise. However, this presupposes a rethinking of the product development process.
