Abstract
By applying methods of creative thinking, material selection, contemporary literature and first class databases, this article presents two academic approaches from two Colombian universities to teach about materials & processes for Industrial design and Product design engineering. By empower the students to experiment and comprehend by perception the different attributes and properties of a material and its transforming processes, a collective learning is created aimed in the mid term innovate y products through materials.
