Abstract
Investigation of butterflies and burnets (Lepidoptera: Papilionoidea, Zygaenidae) on the LTSER-sites in Matsch/Mazia (South Tyrol, Italy) during the science week 2016 We investigated the butterflies and burnets of 15 sites in the LTSER-area Matsch/Mazia in the upper Vinschgau valley. We found 22 butterfly and one burnet species on the sites. These numbers are relatively low due to a very limited number of investigated habitats and due to the fact that some of these habitats are not suitable for these groups. The area has a already well known butterfly and burnet fauna and no new findings could be made. The investigation, however, is a good basis for future studies in order to discover trends in the butterfly and burnet fauna.
