Abstract
This article aims to give a basic definition of Christian based reconciliation and to describe the main distinctive elements of this faith-based peacebuilding procedure, in comparison to other secular norms and social constructs, that are shared among different Christian denominations. Following this introductory part, there is a presentation of the main tools used by Ecumenical agents of reconciliation, in the framework of their shared Christian values. Finally an heuristic model for Christian based reconciliation is proposed, in the context of heuristic scientific analysis tools, to understand human behavior in complex decision making situations, such as those relating to conflict, power and violence. These article is based on the author's transdisciplinary PhD research on ecumenical agents of reconciliation, for the university of Bolzano (faculty of Education). The subjects involved are sociology, antrophology, psychology, education and theology (in relation to this last one, the appendix presents a selection of the writings of R. Schreiter on the topic).
