Abstract
The article explores the relationship between disinformation and epistemic injustices
in the context of the contemporary public sphere. After providing an
overview of the ongoing processes of transformation of the public sphere, the
article emphasizes the importance of truth as a public good that should be protected
by political institutions to ensure citizens epistemic rights and enable a
well functioning democracy. It argues that disinformation tends to hinder the
inclusion of marginalised minorities in the public debate and activates exclusionary
dynamics that make it increasingly difficult to find a shared definition
of the common good.
