Abstract
The paradigm of biological transformation is to take nature as a model for technical systems. This approach has great potential to generate new and innovative solutions for manufacturing systems in the factory of the future. In practice, however, the question arises as to how companies can best benefit from this approach and which recommendations for action they should concretely follow.
