Abstract
The research project ‘UsoPrax’ analyses professional practices of social workers in cases of suspicion of violence against children. Using an ethnographical approach the project focuses on the situational and individual practices as well as the organisational context and the cooperation with other professionals. We are interested in tracing how a case is constructed in youth welfare offices in relation to these factors. We are also looking for the specific difficulties and burdens the social worker face. The research project is a cooperative effort of the social organisation ‘Arbeitskreis Gemeindenahe Gesundheitsversorgung’ and the University of Kassel.
