Accurate modelling of vibrating machines equipped with Neidhart springs is challenging due to the strong non-linearities introduced by the elastomer–metal torsional elements and the constraints imposed by their kinematic arrangement. Multibody modelling methodologies for such vibrating machines are often computationally demanding, thus limiting the practicality for efficient design optimization and iterative procedures. To overcome this limitation, a reproducible methodology is proposed to derive an accurate and computationally efficient linear model without requiring access to the real machine. This is done by introducing a non-linear multibody model of such machines, parameterised exclusively through CAD geometries, technical datasheets, and existing literature data. Subsequently, the multibody model is simulated under nominal operating conditions to obtain the steady-state response of the oscillating chassis. From the simulation, chassis' range of motion is extracted and used to identify equivalent linear stiffness and damping coefficients of supports with Neidhart spring. This allows one to derive an equivalent linear dynamic model that enhances computational efficiency while preserving high accuracy. The resulting linear model is compared with the non-linear multibody model and experimental measurements from a real vibrating machine. The results indicate that the linear model closely matches the non-linear multibody model response in steady state, achieving significant reduction in computation time and showing good agreement with experimental acceleration measurements.
