Abstract
A rapid and accurate analysis of the induction motor (IM) is the basis of any design process. This paper deals with an analysis procedure of the IM that combines a set of finite-element simulations with an analytical model. Both three- and single-phase machines are considered. Experimental tests on some IMs confirm the accuracy of the prediction achieved by the proposed analysis. The choice of specific quantifies releases the results from the actual motor length and extends them to any motor adopting the same lamination and winding distribution.
