Abstract
Gerhard Budin is a leading authority in terminology science, translation studies, digital humanities, and the philosophy of science. His influential work has shaped research agendas, advanced international standards, and fostered interdisciplinary collaboration. This volume celebrates his outstanding contributions and honors his 65th birthday by bringing together scholars from terminology science, translation studies, and (computational) linguistics. Budin has played a key role in carrying the rich Viennese tradition of terminology science into the modern era through critical reflection and innovation. To honor this legacy, the volume includes original chapters that revisit fundamental research questions and showcase terminology work. His impact on the European language technology landscape is reflected in contributions on language representation and technology, while his linguistic background informs chapters on intertextuality and related topics. Translation forms a third major pillar, honored with original research on translation competence, technology, history, and localization.
