Abstract
The dataset relates to the CIS — Carbon Inventory South Tyrol project (April 2023 – June 2026), conducted at the Institute for Alpine Environment, Eurac Research, Bolzano/Bozen. The project produced a spatially continuous, 30 m resolution estimate of topsoil (0–30 cm) organic carbon stock (OCS) for South Tyrol using a LULC-stratified Random Forest digital soil mapping model. Three sub-models — for extensive grassland, permanent grassland, and cropland — are trained independently on a harmonised field observation database, spatially cross-validated, and mosaicked into wall-to-wall rasters.
