Abstract
This contribution describes the activities performed in two workshops concerned with communication for interdisciplinary humancentred design. Interdisciplinarity means integrating different approaches to build new knowledge that crosses disciplinary boundaries, relevant for human-centred design. The workshops, held in April 2025, involved 8 PhD students with different types of background and were based on hands-on activities, followed by brief moments of reflection on each activity. The activities aimed at developing a critical outlook on the role of jargon in interdisciplinary communication through generative AI tools and card-based materials with icons. This way, the workshops enabled participants to interact with each other in an interdisciplinary way, and informed the development of an hybrid toolkit, with digital and card-based tools, for interdisciplinary communication.
