Abstract

biosignal Nature artefact teenager
Engaging children with nature has long been a focus in the Human-Computer Interaction community. Teenagers, in particular, have a unique attitude towards nature that differs from their childhood years, calling for interactions specifically designed for this age group. This paper presents a tangible artefact for teenagers, which aims to spark curiosity about natural biosignals that cannot be directly perceived through human senses. It encourages reflections on how human biosignals relate to those of non-human beings. The artefact is inspired by an ecocentric perspective of nature and has been tested with groups of teenagers, showing promising results.
