Abstract
The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) is a specialization of the Internet of Things (IoT), whose scope is using platforms, applications, and devices designed to support patients for medical purposes. IoMT is particularly used for use cases such as treating diseases, post-operative and elder care, or monitoring the patient in hospital and non-hospital settings. We provide a review of software architecture concerns of IoMT systems, looking into architectural concerns such as layers and distribution patterns and analyzing a number of medical use cases in terms of functional and quality needs. Identifying quality concerns is an objective leadin to the definition of a multi-view reference architecture incorporating quality concerns with architectural patterns.
