Abstract
In a recent attempt to solve the image reconstruction problem, Jiang et al. [1] introduced a new family of hybrid three-term conjugate gradient techniques which turned out to be theoretically effective and numerically efficient. Here, according to their study, we suggest a new three-term conjugate gradient algorithm as a modified version of the Polak–Ribière–Polyak method. Numerical experiments on a set of CUTEr test functions and also, on some image reconstruction problems are done. They show that the proposed method performs promisingly in the computational viewpoint.
