Some neurodivergent students may experience heightened sensitivity to sudden noises, making appropriate acoustic conditions crucial for their well-being, especially in educational settings. This study investigates whether school environments meet the sensory needs of autistic users by focusing on the issue of unexpected noise disturbances. Initially, a review of existing literature was conducted to identify the types of sudden noises that most commonly cause discomfort or acoustic stress. Using these findings as a reference, the study then evaluated real-world school environments, measuring the occurrence and intensity of such noises. The analysis focused on determining whether these noises exceeded recommended levels as outlined in the literature. The results provide insights into the acoustic challenges faced by neurodivergents and offer a basis for recommendations aimed at creating more inclusive and supportive educational spaces.
