Abstract
Music is fundamental to our social roots, and the fundamental connection that music provides for us is emotional and communicative expression. The medium for this emotional and communicative expression in Italy, which rang out from Italian windows, balconies, and family homes, was songs from the past and present. The songs connected generations and served as a medium to strengthen people’s individual and collective resilience. This study offers a reflection of qualitative research on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the practical musical experiences of local communities and how it contributed to their emotional well-being.
