Abstract
The 40th Plenary meeting of the International Cold Forging Group (ICFG) was held from 16 to 19 September in 2007, which was hosted by Prof. Bariani from the Department of Innovation in Mechanics and Management of the University of Padova. He delivered a speech on Stochastic Analysis, Optimization and Robustness of Deformation Processes. Dr. Groenbaek gave an historical overview over the 40 years of ICFG and its future. The ICFG has four working subgroups in which a compilation of presentations on process simulation has been prepared and even a document including case studies were planned. The subgroup Tool Life & Tool Quality planned to prepare a document Tool life & tool quality in cold forging. The ICFG International Exchange Prize was awarded for the first time and was established in order to support the understanding of young researchers of the importance of cold and warm forging production. The award was given to Mr. Martin Geier, Mr. Sebastjan Masera and many more.
