Abstract
Cultural heritage, both in the form of built and intangible heritage, could and should play a central role in the development of solutions for the mitigation and adaptation to climate change. In this work, the methodology developed within the Horizon 2020 project IMPETUS is presented. The methodology, that considers built heritage characterisation, past and future climate data analysis, and local communities’ engagement, takes a multidisciplinary and cross-sectoral approach for the development of solutions for historic buildings.
The method presented here is currently being applied in Valle dei Laghi (Italy) in collaboration with the local stakeholders. The work is aimed at developing tools that foster societal awareness and solutions for the low-carbon adaptation of historic buildings.
