Abstract
At the EUSALP Wood Sub Group meeting of Action Group 2, at the Chartreuse Regional Nature Park, the Task Force on Multifunctional Forestry and Sustainable Use of Timber (TF-MFSUT) presents the planned project TransFORmALPs. With its target on dealing with the "consequences of, dialogue about, and progress on transforming the forest of the Alpine region to adapt them and the timber value chain (VC) to predicted climate change scenarios", TransFORmALPs supports the targets of the EUSALP "Sub Group Wood" of AG2. It contributes on the one hand to the multifunctionality of forests in a context of strong tensions on wood resources and the dialogue amgon public and private forest owners, administration and the general public, to promote the production and consumption of local Alpine products, in short cycles. And secondly it takes concern of the AG2 mission to encourage territorial cooperation between the Alpine regions to consolidate the Alpine wood chain and to support the development of the bio- and circular economy under considering the climate change induced consequences.
