Abstract
In this presentation, the authors draw on the quantitative data gathered through an online questionnaire and discuss the findings derived from their analysis. It shed light on how linguistic diversity – including its new and developing forms – is addressed and possibly leveraged in both rural and urban schools of a province where the plurilingualism of its habitants is considered – for both strategically and historical reasons – a fundamental component of social and professional life. Based on the findings of this cross-sectional study, the next phases of the SMS 2.0 project will be planned, in particular those concerning the promotion of didactic competences for teachers and the development of materials for the valorisation and management of linguistic diversity in South Tyrolean schools.
