Abstract
Forests, but also our society are facing severe cuts. Too fast for foresters? Bridging the gaps and finding a good balance is crucial to cope with climate crisis and other challenges, that are threatening our forests. The various discussions on multifunctional forestry reveal the need of dialogue with other sectors and make also gaps between forestry & society evident. Which demands are justified and what turns out as wishful thinking? How can we embed society - to get acceptance and support in difficult times?
