Abstract
Turkey between centralisation, decentralisation and poly-centralisation:
1. Structure of local governance in Turkey: current legal framework, reforms;
2. European Charter of Local Self-government and Turkey: improvements, recommendations;
3. (R-)evolutions: patterns of change.
The presentation aims at developing an historical approach towards administrative reforms in Turkey, thus identifying possible cyclical attitudes towards local governance.
