Abstract
The Italian Alpine inventory builds on the experience from the European Drought Impact Report Inventory (EDII) to expand on crowdsourced information on drought impacts affecting different sectors in the Italian Alps (e.g., agriculture, energy, urban and tourism). Information are sourced and categorized from newspaper articles from 2021 through an automated text analysis using Natural Language Processing methods. The inventory will provide an open source of drought information for further understanding of spatial and temporal dynamics of drought impacts across multiple sectors.
