Abstract
This summary of the working group "Mountain Infrastructure and "Mountain Livelihood and Sustainable Development," shows how difficult it is to handle the mutual interconnections of various disciplines when it comes to developing application-oriented solutions for a mountain region. As a synthesis, it attempts to highlight the similarities and differences and to examine from applied examples the points of success or failure. The aim was to respond to challenges and to show which needs have to be taken into account to transfer experiences from different development processes and methodological approaches to other mountain regions of the world.
