Abstract
Complex diseases require personalised therapeutic approaches. Integrating multi-omics data with clinical information significantly improves disease characterisation and enables more precise prevention and treatment. However, there are still several challenges to overcome, such as selecting suitable multi-omics integration methods, ensuring computational scalability for large datasets and interpreting the results. This PhD project will initially focus on clustering within a single disease type — type 2 diabetes — with the goal of progressively incorporating additional multi-omics layers and ultimately translating these findings to other complex diseases.
