Abstract
Digital language infrastructures are heavily focused on research units and larger official institutions like public libraries. With the DI-ÖSS project, we draw attention also to smaller actors, such as local libraries, archives and publishers which operate on a local level. They often collect, manage and host language resources of particular value for their geographical and cultural region (e.g. cultural heritage, local language varieties, etc.). Therefore, it seems highly relevant to find ways of engaging and connecting them to existing European infrastructure initiatives.
In this article, we describe current efforts to document data about local language institutions, and to organize and distribute them via an online tool by adapting existing CLARIN solutions.
