Abstract
The poster illustrates strategies for developing and disseminating consistent Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) terminology for German as a local-only minority language in South Tyrol, Italy. The challenge lies in the interdisciplinary nature of OHS terminology, which is partly legal, but often very technical. While legal terminology is system-bound, terminology from chemistry, engineering, etc. is much more international. These two sets of OHS terms therefore call for different strategies. We also address relevant dissemination strategies, because language (hence terminology) is a key aspect in training and education and ultimately contributes to improving workplace safety.
