Abstract
This poster reports on research conducted for my MA dissertation (University of Padua, AY 2018-19). The study explored the spontaneous production of passive structures by 18 native Italian-speaking children aged 1;04 - 3;04, showing that participants can produce all types of Italian passives around age 2. Moreover, half of the occurrences analyzed did not show signs of contextual facilitation (cfr. Snyder & Hyams, 2015), suggesting an earlier mastery of passives than previously believed.
