Abstract
The linguistic situation in South Tyrol is characterized by external and/or internal multilingualism of its inhabitants. The project KOMMA focuses on language contact phenomena in written texts and oral discourses from South Tyrolean high school graduales attending German-medium schools. Tue paper provides a brief overview of the linguistic situation in South Tyrol and presents the corpus and subjects in more detail. Subsequently, we focus on the usage of prepositions differing from the Standard German norm to discuss the influence oflanguage contact, the realization in written and oral data and syntactic constraints concerning these phenomena.
