Abstract
By helping readers to understand the phenomena they are dealing with, and relying on a cross-disciplinary narration that presents different points of view, visual journalism facilitates the diffusion of narrations that can contrast the stereotypes and simplifications that slant the debate, advancing the cause of balanced transparent information. This essay wishes to examine ethical practices in visual journalism and how they have produced a counter-narration that can reverse the clichés about migrant invasion, using quantitative and qualitative data. An effort balanced between journalism and far-reaching design, capable of attracting readers and informing them about this complex multi-faceted theme.
