Abstract
This contribution presents a creative strategy to implement multilingual didactics in schools in a diverse multilingual European region. Due to South Tyrol‘s historical background, languages and linguistic diversity are central issues on all levels of everyday life which are often discussed in a very ambivalent and emotional way. Based on the principles of multilingual didactics and pluralist approaches to learning and teaching languages, a travelling exhibition on the topic of multilingualism has been developed. This, together with many related activities, sets out to support a more modern, positive, and conscious view of the current linguistic landscape with all its challenges and potentials in order to enhance multilingual awareness among students, teachers and all actors of the educational sphere.
