Abstract
This project investigates the process of participatory future community design in the Deutschnonsberg, a border region between the Italian- and Germanspeaking autonomous Provinces of Trentino and Bozen-Bolzano. Through a transdisciplinary approach, the project fosters a sense of ownership and active involvement of the whole community of 4 villages to develop common solutions to problems of demographic decrease and depopulation. By incorporating social, future, and design research methodologies, alternative strategies and potential future scenarios are explored. The project serves as a platform for collective decisionmaking and activation of the local population, aiming to address challenges and shape a shared, ecologically and socially sustainable future for the communities.
