Abstract
This contribution is a detailed overview of the history of "traditional" lexicography in Dolomitic Ladin. It deals especially with the first important dictionaries in the 19th century and with those published in the 20th century. The term "traditional" does not refer primarily to the chronologically oldest dictionaries, but to all those which deal with the traditional lexicon of different Ladin varieties and have Ladin as their source language, as opposed to "modern" dictionaries which start out from Italian or German.
