Abstract
In den vergangenen Jahren stand die Skandalisierung von Kindeswohlgefährdungen und in der Folge die Kontrolle der Kinderschutzfälle und damit die Kontrolle der Kinder- und Jugendhilfe im Zentrum der öffentlichen Aufmerksamkeit in Österreich und in Deutschland. Dieser Beitrag verschiebt den Fokus der Aufmerksamkeit, indem er – ausgehend von den ethnografischen Beobachtungen der Autorin in der Praxis der Kinder- und Jugendhilfe – Kinderschutzarbeit als interdisziplinäres Handlungsfeld aufgreift und daran anschließend die Bedeutung von Kooperation für am Kindeswohl orientierte Kinderschutzarbeit herausarbeitet. Dies geschieht auf der Basis von rekonstruierten Kinderschutzfällen bzw. Kinder- und Jugendhilfefällen. Ausgehend von diesen empirischen Ergebnissen werden Voraussetzungen für gelingende interdisziplinäre und interinstitutionelle Kooperationen benannt.
In recent years, the scandal around children being at risk of harm and, as a result, checks on child protection cases and thus checks on the child and youth welfare system have come into the focus of public attention in Austria and Germany. Based on the author's ethnographic observations in practice in child and youth welfare, this article shifts the focus of attention by picking up on child protection work as an interdisciplinary field of action, then pinpointing the importance of cooperation for child protection work based on the child's best interests. This takes place based on reconstructed cases in the field of child protection or child and youth welfare. Starting out from these empirical results, conditions are named in which interdisciplinary and interinstitutional cooperation can succeed.
