Abstract
The paper offers a broad perspective on the discussion of emotions and intuition within organizational decision research. In order to evaluate current concepts and approaches properly, it is essential to review briefly historical pathways and fundamental issues of economic behavior and decision making such as the rationality debate. Based on a sketch of the variety of factors and processes influencing organizational decisions and disciplines involved, the main approaches that deal with emotions and intuition as variables of human decision making in organizational settings are described. Finally a reorientation of organizational decision research is suggested.
