Abstract
In the following chapter an overview is given on hybrid heating and cooling systems. In this chapter the meaning of hybrid systems is explained and how the limitations of single renewable energy technologies can be overcome by hybrid applications. The main advantages and disadvantages are introduced. The most common technology combinations are shown as well as the market development of single technologies especially suitable for hybrid systems. The chapter concludes with future trends and sources for further information.
