Abstract
It's not easy to initiate a broad dialogue about transport poverty. Mobility is a topic on which many Flemish people have strong opinions, one that often leaves little room for the opinions of others. Moreover, no one likes to talk about poverty, which makes it difficult to bring in experienced experts to the table. Finally, every mobility issue is so unique that no one really believes in miracle solutions and therefore simply carries on driving. If we do want to foster a broad dialogue, we will need to deploy tools. We will discuss two types here: a design game that helps structure dialogue and design tools that help develop a common language among all the "experts." We will discuss three tools: personas, business canvases, and activity systems.
